Switzerland - Hello from Switzerland

0

My very first postcards via Postcrossing.   Switzerland reminds me of the green and snowy mountains here in Washington State.   Thanks Audrea for the lovely card and I love the stamps too. :)

The 5 images are of:
Jugfrau, is one of the main summits in the Bernese Alps, situated between the cantons of Valais and Bern in Switzerland.

Matterhorn, (No not the ride at Disneyland but there is a replica of it for the ride *smirk*)   is a mountain in the Pennine Alps on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Its summit is 4,478 metres (14,692 ft) high, making it one of the highest peaks in the Alps.

Dent-du-Midi, is a mountain chain situated in the Chablais Alps in the Canton of Valais, Switzerland. It is composed of seven distinct summits and reaches a height of 3257 metres (10,686 feet).  The castle in the foreground is Château de Chillon. The oldest parts of the castle have not been definitively dated, but the first written record of the castle is in 1160 or 1005.[1] From the mid 12th century, the castle was home to the Counts of Savoy, and it was greatly expanded in the 13th century by Pietro II. The Castle was never taken in a siege, but did change hands through treaties.

Piz La Margna,  is a mountain in the Bernina Range in Switzerland.

Pilatus, is a mountain near Lucerne, Switzerland. Jurisdiction over the mountain is divided between the cantons of Obwalden, Nidwalden, and Lucerne. The peak is in Obwalden right on the border with Nidwalden.  The top can be reached with the Pilatus Railway, the world’s steepest cogwheel railway from Alpnachstad, operating from May to November (depending on snow conditions), and the whole year with the aerial panorama gondolas and aerial cableways from Kriens. Pilatus has the longest summer toboggan track in Switzerland (0.88 miles or 1,350 m) and the biggest suspension rope park in Central Switzerland.
